                   ...

Ike Sweesy retired in 2008 as the VP of Accounting, Administration, and Human Resources at PayrollAmerica headquartered in Boise, Idaho, where he particularly develops processes extending to all aspects of the business including sticking his nose into all of Operations.

His varied career spans service in the military, the public, private, and non-profit sectors, and includes executive management experience with small to mid-sized businesses. He has built buildings, demolished buildings, taught fighter pilots, taught airline pilots, and taught college students; run a nation-wide Internet service, dug ditches, manufactured computers, sold computers, produced TV commercials, directed large public events, and pushed many electrons for many businesses needing ‘trouble-shooting’ – having been a Top Gun ‘Shooter’ in the Air Force.

Ike is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he was a boxer and an aggressive Rugby player (too aggressive - but that’s a long story), and where he bought his first Corvette to win a beautiful wife.  Ike was the top graduate of the 1971 USAFA Aviation Training program and also the Captain of the Collegiate Flying Team. He was a Distinguished Graduate of his Jet Pilot Training class and winner of multiple “Top Gun” fighter gunnery awards and the Fighter Pilot of the Year at Mountain Home AFB in 1988. Ike had earned his first flying certification at 16 years old, had his Commercial Pilot Rating by the time he was 18, also flying Civil Air Patrol missions in the T-34 military trainer/utility aircraft, and winning a spot at the C.A.P. Jet Orientation Course at 19 years old. He’s flown Piper Cubs & corporate Jets around the US, and supersonic fighters around the world.

A combat veteran, having flown combat missions in the Southeast Asia War and 34 combat missions during Operation Desert Storm, Ike was in the first wave attack on January 17, 1991 - “the rockets red glare .. the bombs bursting in air.”   He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and many other awards during his career as a Fighter Pilot and Operational Test Pilot before retiring in 1992.

A former corporate pilot also in LearJets & the Falcon 900, Ike holds the Air Transport Pilot rating and now flies light aircraft around the skies of Idaho – besides his, and his beautiful wife’s, Corvettes around the streets of Boise.    Ike's love for his wife and 5 children extends to his 10 grandkids who always want to ride in the Corvette with “Major Dad” or to see him racing at the drag strip.

Ike earned a Master's Degree from the College of Idaho while in the Air Force focusing on Psychology & Counseling – a balance of his ‘hard science’, technology, and ‘hard-charging military’ orientation. And, he later taught college courses as a college Instructor.   His time at Dallas Theological Seminary under many popular professors taught him sound Bible study methods, and he is an engaging Bible teacher himself, and even hosts a Bible doctrine web site.

Ike has a joy for ‘order’ (besides his ‘need for speed’), and every company he is engaged with experiences his systematic, documented approach to ferreting out and re-engineering those inefficient, error-prone, and hence ‘costly’ processes and practices – “it’s not the poor employee’s fault, it’s the process”.   Friendly and fun-loving, but passionate and ‘no nonsense’ with business, he’s a strange fit for Human Resources & especially Accounting – who would have thought that a fighter pilot …..

But regardless, Ike pushes what’s required; and the insightful leaders, managers, & employees will always get onboard to enhance the effectiveness, survivability, and profitability of an enterprise.
